Tapestry sewing needles are sometimes referred to as Cross Stitch needles. They have a large eye and a blunt round point and are especially adapted for the use in needlepoint, petit point, countered cross stitch and plastic canvas work.
The finer needles such as size 22, 24, 26 and 28 that are commonly used for cross stitch. The blunt round point enables the needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. Use them with wool, embroidery soft cotton and stranded cotton on Single Point Canvas, Double Point Canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric.
Package contains six needles, measuring 1 1/2" long.

I purchased 3 types of needles. All three are tapestry size 24. I am stitching with pearl cotton #8 and I use the DMC 3 way threader with the metal hook to thread the needle. These are the 3 I purchased from 123stitch. All are great!

Bonin is my favorite. The eyes are not uniform so if it's hard to thread the needle, try a different one. This is the smoothest needle of the 3. Very easy for hand sewing. These gave me the least amount of hand fatigue.
Colonial Petite, these are super short so you can stitch closer to the end of your thread. The length of the needle took a little getting used to for starting and ending. Very smooth needle.
John James, this needle feels similar to the Colonial, but they are longer. The eye is a bit looser and my needle unthreaded more often than the Colonial. This might change with a different needle from the package.

These are great! They are the perfect size for 14 ct aida. They don't have any burrs in the eyes like some other brands I've tried.

I think these needles are great for counted cross stitch and wool appliqué. I use the 24 needle for cross stitch and I buy #7 for the wool appliqué. I would not use any other needle. I have tried multiple needles and I finally have the best. Quick shipping. Thank you
