Tapestry sewing needles are sometimes referred to as Cross Stitch needles. They have a large eye and a blunt round point and are especially adapted for the use in needlepoint, petit point, countered cross stitch and plastic canvas work.

The finer needles such as size 22, 24, 26 and 28 that are commonly used for cross stitch. The blunt round point enables the needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. Use them with wool, embroidery soft cotton and stranded cotton on Single Point Canvas, Double Point Canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric.

These are excellent tapestry needles! They are ever so slightly longer and heavier than other brands of the same size, which makes them easier to work with over extended periods of time. I highly recommend them!

Consistent, every needle is the same. Other needle brands you may have one or two out of the package that are good. In John James all of the needls are good, the eye does not shread the thread. The needle runs thru the fabric smoothly. The needle doesn't bend. Reasonable price.

I like the larger eye on both sizes that I bought. As a general rule I buy DMC needles (that is all that is available to me in my area) they tend to bend easy..bending at the eye and breaking the eye and a few have rough eyes and sheed the floss...I have had none of these problems with the John James needles...so far so good D.

I like these needles. The eye is larger than dmc needles. The shape of the needles is more consistent. The point on the #26 is sharper. I’m not crazy about that. Overall I like the needles.

These are the best for cross-stitch. The 24's are a little too thick so I prefer something that glides through any Aida cloth without difficulty, especially 16 and 18 count Aida.Thank you. Later on I'm going to try the gold needles to see how they work also.

I find the 25 tapestry needle is better than the 24 when it comes to anything about 14 count Aida cloth. The 24 is way too wide and has a tendency to spread the holes wider if a mistake is made.
