This is the sampler of Lammegien Pot, a girl born in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. Drenthe samplers are relatively unknown, so to have one in my personal collection is quite special. This is a faithful period reproduction of an 18th century sampler from one of the Germanic countries or perhaps even the Netherlands (where it was purchased). The sampler shows various elongated motifs which might have been used as models for knitting.
