Haven for Liberty is a commemorative cross stitch sampler created in honor of America's Semiquincentennial-250 years of history, hope, and freedom. This original design weaves together powerful symbolism and nostalgic charm, making it a meaningful tribute to the American spirit.
Stitched on 32 ct linen. The stitch count is 251 x 213 and the finished size is 17.93" x 15.21".
NOTE: Although the picture shows all 4 seasonal bands in the series, this pattern is for the top "Spring" band. Subsequent seasons will be sold separately. The model was stitched on 36 Ct. Flax linen and has a stitch count of 162x49.

Oh Tomato, you look so fine growing on that blessed vine. Did you know your true worth was to aid my stitching work (original verse by Cathy Habermann). The sampler is fully charted for BOTH the verse stitched over 1 thread as well as an over 2 threads version.
In adapting this sampler to be stitched over one and two threads of linen - instead of 1, 2, 3, and 4 as stitched by Mary - we endeavored to remain true to her composition while creating a more "stitchable" sampler. While the antique is framed, we decided to hemstitch our sampler. We are fortunate that Mary included her age, middle initial and the date she stitched her sampler.
