There is a notch in one hoop that fits into a groove on the other that keeps the fabric firm when sewing. *The size of the hoop is taken from the inside of the hoop, not the middle, like on the wooden ones.
This hoop is sized 9.8" x 11" (250mm x 280mm) with a width/thickness of 1/3" (8mm) and is the color "Blue".

from United States on 08/15/2025 - Comfortable to hold This is the second Nurge I have ordered, and I love that they are lightweight to hold. They also make it easy to stitch into the corners of the fabric, which I sometimes struggle with when using hoops or Q-snaps. They also hold the fabric nice and tight, although getting the fabric in there can be a challenge if it isn't opened wide enough.

The big size is bit, as big as the large QSnap frame. But that fine, it works well.
I will have to order the small one next.
